Senator Gary Stevens moved for the adoption of the House Letter of Intent. 2005-05-10 Senate Journal Page 1590 The question being: "Shall the House Letter of Intent be adopted?" The roll was taken with the following result: SCS CSHB 130(FIN) Adopt Letter of Intent? YEAS: 10 NAYS: 9 EXCUSED: 1 ABSENT: 0 Yeas: Cowdery, Dyson, Green, Huggins, Seekins, Stevens B, Stevens G, Therriault, Wagoner, Wilken Nays: Davis, Ellis, Elton, French, Guess, Hoffman, Kookesh, Olson, Stedman Excused: Bunde and so, the Legislative Letter of Intent was adopted. Senator Ellis objected, stating the adoption of a Letter of Intent requires an affirmative vote of the majority of the full membership of the body. President Stevens ruled that the adoption of a Letter of Intent requires an affirmative vote of the majority of the members present. (Mason's Manual Section 503) SENATE CS FOR CS FOR HOUSE BILL NO. 130(FIN) was before the Senate on final passage.
